This pattern is written in US Crochet Terminology and uses standard Crochet Abbreviations.

I used Drops Paris yarn and a 4.5mm hook.

3 balls of white and remnants of assorted colours.

2 bag handles approx 6 inches across.

Description

  • Make 13 Flashy Flower Squares – link here.
  • The layout of the bag uses them in a diagonal pattern with 5 squares in the front, 5 at the back and one joining at each side and the bottom.
  • The squares are joined by holding them right sides together and crocheting them together through the back loops with a contrasting yarn.
  • When they are all joined they should look like this…

The bag is finished by working a row of sc around the top.

  • Catch in the handles on the top points by working 2sc in each of the top 3 Sts (which includes the ch sp) while at the same time working over the handle ring (so working 6 sc altogether).
  • Work the bottom Vs by working 2 sc in the bottom st of one square, 1 sc in the ch space of the square below, and 2 sc in the bottom st of the next square.
