Super easy

This pattern is written in US Crochet Terminology and uses standard Crochet Abbreviations.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in Graphite, Duck Egg, Mustard, Cream.

5.5mm and 4mm hook.

Description

  • Using a 5.5mm hook ch84.  Join into a circle with a sl st, making sure you don’t twist it.

These chains will be the bottom of your cowl and the tension of them will be much tighter than your top edge if you use your usual 4mm hook – so it’s important to work these chains with a larger hook.

  • Row 1: Change to 4mm hook, (ch3, 2dc) in same st, miss 2 ch, *3dc in same st, miss 2 st; rep from * around.  Sl st into top of ch3.
  • Row 2: Sl st into ch space,(ch3, 2dc) in space, *3dc in next space; rep from * around.  Sl st into top of ch3.
  • Repeat Row 2 until your cowl is the desired length.

My cowl is 17 x 2 colour stripes (34 rows in total) and I changed colour every 2 rows.
