This pattern is written in US Crochet Terminology and uses standard Crochet Abbreviations.

Description

  • With centre colour ch4, join into a circle.
  • 12dc into ring.  Fasten off.

Working in the back loops only –

  • Change colour, ch2 (counts as sc and chain, *sc1, ch1; rep 11 times more. Join with a sl st to  the 1st ch.  
  • Fasten off.

Change colour and working in the chain spaces only –

  • (ch3 (counts as 1st dc), 3dc, pull up loop and drop from hook.  Put hook through top of ch3, catch pulled up loop and pull it through the top of ch3 [1st popcorn made]), ch2, *in next ch sp (4dc, pull up loop and drop from hook.  Put hook through top of 1st dc, catch pulled up loop and pull it through the top of 1st dc, ch2); rep from * 10 times more.
  • Join to top of 1st popcorn with a sl st.  
  • Fasten off.

Change colour and working in the chain spaces only –

  • Join into a ch sp, (ch6 (counts as tr and 2ch), tr, dc) in same space, (dc, hdc, sc) in next sp, (sc, hdc, dc) in next sp, *(dc, tr, ch2, tr, dc) in next sp,(dc, hdc, sc) in next sp, (sc, hdc, dc) in next sp; rep from * 2 more times. dc into same space as 1st corner, sl st into ch4 of initial chs. Sl st into ch sp.
  • ch1, *(sc, ch2, sc), sc 10, rep from * 3 times more.  Sl st into top of 1st sc and fasten off.
