English Rose

English Rose

Project Details

Project Description

You will need…

Various colours of dk yarn and a 4 mm hook.  Other weights of yarn could be used, just use the size of hook recommended by the yarn manufacturer.

I use American crochet terminology and standard abbreviations.

1. Ch 4 and join into a ring.  Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), work 11 more dc into ring.  Sl st into top of ch 3 & fasten off.

2. Join next colour into top of a dc;  [Ch 2 (counts as hdc), dc, tr, dc, hdc] into st, ch 5, *miss a st, [hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc] into next st, ch 5; rep from * 4 times more.  Join with a sl st into top of ch 2.  Fasten off.

The motifs are joined as you go; if you need some help with this then this should help.  The motifs are joined by slip stitching into the ch 5 loops of the corresponding motif.  To illustrate: –

a. When you need to join, ch 2.

b. Join with a sl st to corresponding ch 5 loop.

c. Ch 2 and work the next petal cluster.

They make a beautiful scarf of stole and are great for using up all of those scraps and leftovers.
