You will need…
Various colours of dk yarn and a 4 mm hook. Other weights of yarn could be used, just use the size of hook recommended by the yarn manufacturer.
I use American crochet terminology and standard abbreviations.
1. Ch 4 and join into a ring. Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), work 11 more dc into ring. Sl st into top of ch 3 & fasten off.
2. Join next colour into top of a dc; [Ch 2 (counts as hdc), dc, tr, dc, hdc] into st, ch 5, *miss a st, [hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc] into next st, ch 5; rep from * 4 times more. Join with a sl st into top of ch 2. Fasten off.
The motifs are joined as you go; if you need some help with this then this should help. The motifs are joined by slip stitching into the ch 5 loops of the corresponding motif. To illustrate: –
a. When you need to join, ch 2.
b. Join with a sl st to corresponding ch 5 loop.
c. Ch 2 and work the next petal cluster.
d. Continue around joining where appropriate.
They make a beautiful scarf of stole and are great for using up all of those scraps and leftovers.
