This pattern is written with US Crochet Terminology and uses standard crochet abbreviations.

Description

  • With your chosen colour for the centre of your circle, ch 4 and join into a ring.ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), 11 dc into ring.  Join with a sl st into top of ch 3. (12 sts).  Fasten off.
  • With flower colour join into the back loop of one of the dc below (this round is worked in the back loops only), ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), *2dc in next st; rep from * 10 times.  Work 1dc into same place as 1st ch 3.  Join will a sl st to top of ch 3.  (24 sts)
  • *miss a st, (2hdc, 1 dc) in next st, (3dc) in next st, (1 dc, 2 hdc) in next st, miss a st, sl st; rep from * 3 times more working your final sl st into the same st you started in.  Fasten off.  (4 petals)
  • With outer square colour, join into the space just underneath a side sl st.  ch 2 (counts as hdc), dc in same st, *miss a st (it will probably be hidden underneath the dc just worked anyway!), and working in the back loops only around the petals, sc, sc, hdc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st for corner, hdc, sc, sc, miss a st, work (dc, hdc, dc) into space under sl st; rep from * twice more, but on the last side work only to the second miss a st, then work a dc into the same place as the first hdc and dc.  Join with a sl st to top of ch 2.  Fasten off.
 

While the pattern is very easy, honest :), it’s not the most straightforward to follow perhaps so if you need a bit of extra help the following video tutorial may fill in the gaps…
